Privacy Policy

This policy covers the TravelHub friends-and-family beta. A reviewed, final version will replace it before public launch.

Summary

TravelHub helps small groups coordinate group travel. We collect the minimum information needed to run the app: your email, name, trips you create or join, and the flights you add. We don’t sell your data. We don’t show ads. We don’t build profiles for advertisers.

What we collect

  • Account: email, display name, optional home airport.
  • Trips: trip name, dates, destination, invite codes, membership, lodging details you enter.
  • Flights: airline, flight number, departure/arrival airport and time, terminal, gate, booking reference if you paste it.
  • Messages: group chat content you post in a trip.
  • Device: push notification token so we can deliver flight updates and nudges from your travel group.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and performance metrics (with email and auth headers stripped before they leave the device).

Third-party services

We rely on the following providers. Each is bound by their own privacy terms and our data processing agreements:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, realtime messaging, push dispatch. Data is stored in their managed Postgres in the US region.
  • AviationStack / FlightAware — flight status lookups. We send airline code + flight number + date; we do not send your name or email.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — powers the Trip Assistant chat and smart flight extraction. Your trip context and the text you ask about are sent to Anthropic; they do not train on this data per their API terms.
  • Sentry — error reporting. Email, full name, and auth headers are redacted client-side before send.
  • Expo Push — delivers native push notifications.
  • Apple / Google — platform-level push routing and sign-in.

How long we keep it

Your account and trips stay until you delete them. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, membership rows, and messages within 30 days. Trip records you created stay intact for other members unless you delete the trip itself.

Your rights

  • See everything we have on you — ask us and we’ll send you an export.
  • Correct any field (name, airport, email) from the Profile tab.
  • Delete your account anytime from Profile → Delete account.
  • Opt out of non-essential push notifications in Settings → Notifications.
